Target just announced today that they will be opening their stores at midnight on Black Friday. In the past years, Target opened their doors at 4am, but this year Target hopes to capture the business among the consumers by opening at midnight and closing at 11pm. In addition to the midnight opening, Target has updated their price match policy. Target will price match its competitors prices (including Black Friday) as long as its for the identical item and its also advertised locally. Unlike Walmart's price guarantee policy, Target states that this price match policy will be enforced at all Target stores throughout the entire year (this does NOT exclude Black Friday).
We have also been hearing rumors that Target will let a certain amount of people (20-30) in the store at opening and let people in at the intervals of 15-20 seconds just so Target could control the crowd and to prevent any customers being injuried on Black Friday. Again, this has not been officially announced but we have been hearing numerous rumors related to this issue.
